Invitation to branch churches and societies: Let’s meet via Zoom!

“Many thanks for your presentation to our meeting last night…
you helped us ‘enlarge the place of our tent.'”
(from a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Ipswich, MA)

The Albert Baker Fund (ABF) is currently scheduling Zoom meetings with Christian Science churches that would like to learn how The Albert Baker Fund supports the education of young Christian Scientists attending college.

The next church zoom meeting will take place on Monday, April 4, at 5 pm Pacific Time. Any church member may attend and register here.

During our time together, Joe Ritter, ABF’s CEO, will provide a brief overview of ABF’s scholarship programs and how scholarships are awarded. He will be joined by a scholarship recipient who will share why receiving an Albert Baker Scholarship was important to them and how they are applying Christian Science in their life. There will be plenty of time for your questions and answers. “We’ve loved meeting ‘face-to-face’ with our church communities and sharing the spiritual resilience of the young Christian Scientists we’ve been able to help on their educational journey,” says Ritter.

The meeting format is entirely flexible based on the needs and desires of the host church. Some churches have held a special meeting or included it as part of their membership meeting. Others have invited nearby churches to join them. One church arranged a special meeting for high school Sunday School students and their parents so that they can learn more about ABF programs. The lengths of meetings can be tailored from 20 minutes to 60 minutes.

If you or your church is interested in scheduling a Zoom meeting with ABF, or would like to discuss possible meeting formats, please contact Sue Ellen Coughtry at sueellen.coughtry@albertbakerfund.org or 916-594-9513 (option 3).
